Apple is offering a special iCloud Passwords add-on for the Mozilla Firefox browser. The add-on allows Firefox users to access passwords and logins stored in the Passwords app or iCloud Keychain while using the browser on the Mac.
With the iCloud Passwords add-on, passwords stored in the iCloud Keychain can be automatically filled in accurately when logging in to websites in Firefox. New passwords created in Firefox are also stored in your iCloud Keychain. This makes it possible to share passwords across Apple devices. There is also an option to generate verification codes.
For the first time at WWDC 2024, Apple unveiled a dedicated Passwords app for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia 15 that hosts all your passwords and logins, making them easier to access and manage. The extension works with the Passwords app in macOS Sequoia, but is also compatible with macOS Sonoma.
Apple also has an iCloud Passwords extension for Google Chrome.
